Face Mask Favourites

One of my favourite things to do of a weekend is have a little pamper session. This normally consists of a face mask or two, a bar of chocolate or two and several episodes of Orange is the New Black. Last night was no different - apart from OITNB was substituted for a couple of chick flicks (don't you just love Bank Holiday tele?). I ended up opting for the Lush and Super Facialist by Una Brennan offerings as you may have seen on my Instagram or Twitter but here's a run down of the ones I tend to reach for most.

For Redness: Lush Oatifix link
One of the more recent additions to my collection, and one that I'll be going into more detail on later this week, Lush Oatifix is as effective as it is yummy. I picked it up on a recent trip to Birmingham looking for something to soothe my hormonal breakout and calm things down. Oatifix is for redness and sensitive skin and, although it feels weird, it does what it says on the tin! Stayed tuned for more...

For Breakouts: Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask link
OMG WHAT A MOUTHFUL. Seriously, Una? Despite a crazy long name, this stuff rocks. I go for this every single time I have a breakout because it simply works. It doesn't feel stripping on the skin, smells reasonably ok, dries within 5 minutes and clears my skin up a treat. It seems to have been renamed as a Salicylic Acid mask and as I've not tried it, I'm not sure if it's the same. I raved about the original in more detail here.

For Thirsty Skin: Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask* link
Skin feeling a little dry and thirsty? Then get your mitts on this from Aromatherapy Associates. It's a clear gel that doesn't dry as such on the skin, more it injects moisture straight into the pores to ease an uncomfortable complexion. It smells incredible - but the rose isn't overpowering - and simply feels really luxurious on the skin. A real winner, which is no surprise as AA is such a gorgeous brand in itself! Further raves here.

For Exfoliation: Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel* link
Another favourite around these parts, this time for a chemical exfoliation. The Papaya Enzyme Peel exfoliates the skin leaving it super soft and clear. I like to use this particularly around my nose and chin as that's where I need a little help with pores and the occasionally bumpy surface. It smells delicious and doesn't feel harsh on my skin. I'd even say this would be fine for sensitive skin. Again, I've shared the love for this baby before.

What are you favourite face masks?

  1. I've been having a couple of breakouts recently so i'll definitely be hunting down the Una Brennan one and giving it a go. My favourite face mask is the Sanctuary 5 minute thermal detox mask, I put it on just before i get in the bath to make sure I relax x

  2. Ooh I tried a sample of the Sanctuary one - it's such an odd sensation! But I loved it - you've reminded me to pick up a full bottle! :) x
